West Aussies are being warned to expect delays on Perth's major arteries as protestors take to the road, calling on the Federal Labor Government to overturn the contentious live sheep export ban.

Trucks, cars, buses, utes and semi-trailers are just some of the vehicles expected to take part in the convoy which stretches from Neerabup - in the north - to Mundijong - in the south - with protestors expected to use the Mitchell and Kwinana Freeways, Canning Highway, Stirling Highway, West Coast Highway and the Causeway.

Action will start at 7.30am, with drivers expected to take various routes, with Main Roads warning commuters of "long delays".

"Main Roads is aware of a large contingent of semi-trailers, utes, buses, cars and possibly tractors participating in the Keep the Sheep Convoy. Long delays (are) expected, plan ahead and allow for extra travel time," the Government agency said in a social media post.

Ben Sutherland, Keep the Sheep's campaign organiser, phoned into the Newsflash podcast on Thursday and told Isaac Mulcrone 500-1,000 vehicles are tipped to take part.

Mr Sutherland had a blunt warning for "grumpy" commuters - "If you're grumpy about the disruption, mate, put Labor last and let's get rid of the Federal Labor Government and this won't ever happen again," he told Isaac.

"Until people realise that this is going to effect their cost-of-living and everything with less meat being available, protein being available to them ie sheep meat. It's an attack on WA's agricultural sector. You need farmers to keep eating, mate. Doesn't matter whether you're vegan or whatever it is," Mr Sutherland told listeners.
