CW: Some viewers may find the following video confronting/distressing.

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility (March 31), so Tamsin Read sat down with the CEO of Transfolk WA - Sam Gibbings - to reflect on some of the biggest challenges impacting transgender/gender diverse people nationwide.
"Significant" waitlists and capacity issues were two of the biggest issues brought up by Ms Gibbings, particularly for those living in Western Australia's regions.

"We know there's significant waitlists and signifcant capacity issues within the healthcare system in accessing gender affirming treatment," she told Tamsin.

Ms Gibbings also encouraged people to "educate themselves" around trans healthcare, as trans rights are growingly under "political scrutiny".

"There's a lot we can do. Respect people's pronouns. Treat people how they wanted to be treated and educate yourself," she told viewers.
